Memorial Day Weekend Schedule of Events!

Listed below is the Schedule of Events for Memorial Day Weekend 2021 in Whittemore, Iowa, the home of your "Official Kick-Off to Summer"!

Saturday, May 29:
     8:00 am  Registration for 6th Annual "St. Michael's 5K Fun Run/Walk" with 9:00 am start!
     9:00 am  Legion set-up of Memorial Day "Avenue of Flags".  All help welcome! Decoration and visitation of local cemeteries
     11:00 - 2:00 p.m. Tour the recently renovated Whittemore Hospital at 311 Broad Street!  Soon to become "Doc's Coffee House & Whittemore Museum".
     Family time

Sunday, May 30:
     11:00 am  Building and Set-Up of Legion's Hamburger Stand on Broad Street
     1:00 pm  Fire Department Water Fights for ALL AGES near Legion
     1:00 pm  Start of Bean Bag Tournaments (registration at 12:30, prior to start of event at Legion Hall)
     5:00-7:00 pm  Pulled Pork Sandwich (fundraising) Supper by Whittemore Betterment Club Committee  FREE WILL
     8:00-11:00 pm  Live Music Street Dance on east side of Legion Hall.  FREE event.

Monday, May 31:
     9:45 am  Legion Parade
     10:00 am  Traditional Memorial Day Program at Community Center followed by Outdoor Services and Fly-Over
     3:00 pm - Start of Day #1 of "Whittemore Fun Days" with carnival by Scott's Amusements
     3:00 pm - Day #1 of Legion's World-Famous Hamburger Stand!
     3:00 PM - Pie & Ice Cream Social by St. Paul's (Whittemore) and St. John's (Fenton) Lutheran Churches
     3:00 pm - Whittemore Warrior's 4-H Club's Root Beer Floats stand
     Due to COVID-19 Pandemic, there will be no 'BINGO" this year :(  :(  :(

Tuesday, June 1:
     4:30  pm - Start of Day #2 (final) of "Whittemore Fun Days" with carnival by Scott's Amusements
     4:30 pm - Day #2 (final) of Legion's World-Famous Hamburger Stand!
     4:30 pm - Pie & Ice Cream Social by St. Paul's (Whittemore) and St. John's (Fenton) Lutheran Churches
     Due to COVID-19 Pandemic, there will be no "BINGO" this year :(  :(  :(
