Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day

The City of Whittemore has again invited Northern Plains Regional Collection Center of Spencer to conduct a "Household Hazardous Waste" Mobile Trailer to set up and collect in Whittemore.  This is a FREE service for Whittemore residents BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.  Please call Whittemore City Hall at 515-884-2265 to make these arrangements.

BUSINESSES interested in participating MUST CALL 712-580-7277 for an appointment and cost estimate for disposal of their hazardous waste.

Residents are invited to bring any of the following "household" wastes for collection:

Oil-Based Paint ** Insecticides ** Paint Thinner ** Furniture Strippers ** Wood Preservatives ** Aerosol Cans ** Photographic Supplies **  Rug Cleaners ** Furniture Polish ** Spot Remover ** Air Freshner ** Household Batteries ** Adhesives ** Flourescent Bulbs ** Pool Chemicals ** Weed Killers ** Fertilizers ** Slug Bait ** Rat Poison ** Kerosene ** Varnish ** Gasoline ** Antifreeze ** Drain Opener ** Oven Cleaner ** Glue ** Toilet Bowl Cleaners ** Ballasts
    
NOTE:  Lates paints are not accepted as they may be dried out in the can (take lid off and expose to air) and disposed of with regular garbage. 

ALL CONTAINERS MUST BE FIVE (5) GALLONS OR SMALLER.
