Don J. Whittemore Endowment Fund is now accepting non-profit grant applications for 2014. Examples of who qualifies for non-profit status include but are not limited to: swimming pool, Library, Fire Department, Legion.( Excluded are religious organizations and schools.) The endowment fund was established on May 6, 2009. Donations to the fund stay in the fund and only the earnings are granted out, thus good forever. There is also a 25% Iowa income tax credit for donations made to an Iowa Endowment Fund. Applications are available on this website, Farmers State Bank or at City Hall. Applications must be returned to City Hall by 4:40pm Tuesday, January 21, 2014 to be considered this grant year.
